Dr. Hue Ly
Dr. Hue Ly’s journey to becoming a dentist began in her childhood in Vietnam. Growing up in a developing country where dental care was often inaccessible and unaffordable, she witnessed firsthand the impact that lack of dental care could have on people’s lives. Many adults lost their teeth at a young age simply because treatment options were limited. One experience, in particular, changed the course of her life: accompanying her grandmother to a dental appointment, where a compassionate dentist encouraged her and shared how dentistry combines both art and medicine. His words, “You can do big things with small touches,” stayed with her and inspired a lifelong passion for helping others through dentistry.
After graduating from high school, Dr. Ly earned admission through a highly competitive entrance examination to the only dental school in Southern Vietnam. She completed her first year of dental education before immigrating to Boston with her family to pursue new opportunities.
After arriving in the United States, Dr. Ly attended Bunker Hill Community College while working in a variety of jobs, including waitress, hostess, warehouse clerk, office assistant, pharmacy technician, dental assistant, and more. These experiences shaped her strong work ethic, humility, and deep appreciation for serving others.
In 2004, Dr. Ly began working as a dental assistant at DotHouse Health, a community health center in Boston. Working closely with patients and providers reignited her dream of becoming a dentist. She found tremendous fulfillment in helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles and became determined to turn her lifelong dream into reality.
Today, dentistry remains Dr. Ly’s greatest passion. She believes that oral health plays a vital role in a person’s overall health, confidence, and quality of life. She is committed to providing compassionate, individualized care and values the unique story and concerns that each patient brings. For Dr. Ly, there is nothing more rewarding than helping patients feel healthier, happier, and more confident in their smiles.
Dr. Ly has also dedicated time to giving back to the community through volunteer service, including participating in mission trips to establish regional dental sealant programs in Da Nang, Vietnam, and delivering meals to homebound seniors during the holidays.
Outside the office, Dr. Ly enjoys traveling the world and learning about different cultures. She loves spending time with her husband and their children, experimenting with new recipes, and exploring cuisines from around the globe.
